Growing up in a strict Black Christian household, Alia was not allowed to do many things. The first time she had watched Sailor Moon was when she had sneak watched it at her cousin’s house. To her dismay, she got caught. Magic and the mystical were seen as secular, so even though she greatly enjoyed the dress-up and costumes of Halloween, her first experience engaging in the holiday was not until her first year of college.
Introduced to Glamour Magazine by her older cousin when she was 11, Stephanie always had a love for fashion. The freedom of expression, colors, and textures excited her. The runway during Fashion Week was one of her favorite moments. And as much as she loved fashion, Stephanie did not feel like there was a place for her in it.
I haven't always been comfortable calling myself an artist, because I feel "artist" is such a broad term, it can be jarring to the listener. Nevertheless, it is what I am. I'm a musical artist who sings and creates sounds intended to inspire, uplift, and change people into their best and most thoughtful selves. I'm also an accessories designer, working with both traditional and non-traditional materials such as brass wire, bottle caps, tee shirts, and cork. Through all of my art, my goal is to shift and widen perspectives and to inspire the possibility of joy, growth and positive change.
I make the every day woman feel like celebrity. After working with A-list Hollywood for 8 years, I now focus on the woman who neglects appreciating herself. My goal is always to create with her an image that she sees before leaving her home – an image that reminds her she is unique, important, and stunning, so that she carries that power with her in all she does. Beauty happens when we love who we are. Her experience with me includes consultation, wardrobe recommendation, hair and makeup styling, fully guided and candid posing, professional editing, and a choice variety of print products.
